Innisfil, Ontario
The Town of Innisfil lies directly south of the City of Barrie, but includes part of Kempenfelt Bay to the northeast. It is bounded roughly by County Road 27 to the west, past Highway 89 to the south and Lake Simcoe to the east. At one time well-known communities like Holly, Painswick and Allandale in Barrie were part of Innisfil.
Now the Town is comprised of the larger communities of Cookstown to the southwest,Churchill and Stroud on Yonge Street, Alcona, Lefroy and Gilford on the western shore of Lake Simcoe and Rural Innisfil which includes the majority of rural residential properties and farmland. Other smaller, notable Innisfil communities are Bear Point, Belle Ewart, Belle Air Beach, Big Bay Point, Cedar Mount, De Grassi Point, Fennell, Glenwood Beach, Innisfil Heights, Killarney Beach, Sandy Cove and Sandycove Acres.
There are a great many detached homes starting with cottages in Alcona, Lefroy and Gilford, new homes in subdivisions like Innisfil Estates in Stroud and upscale houses in Cookstown, mobile homes in Sandy Cove Acres in Rural Innisfil as well as farms and homes with greater acreage, townhomes in Alcona and Lefroy, and townhouse condos and condominiums in Friday Harbour Resort on Big Bay Point Road. Waterfront homes and properties on the lake always attract buyer interest from Toronto and beyond.
