Springwater is a township located in Simcoe County that was formed in 1994, with the coming together of Elmvale, a portion of Medonte, and the townships of Vespra and Flos. Encompassing the approximate 536 square kilometres of land, and population of around 19,000. The largest communities in Springwater are considered to be Anten Mills, Crown Hill, Elmvale, Hillsdale, Midhurst, and Minesing.
Popular attractions in Springwater consist of Elmvale Jungle Zoo, Springwater Provincial Park, the Simcoe County Museum, Barrie Hill Farms for berry picking and fresh produce, Minesing Wetlands, Rounds Ranch for family fun on a farm, Snow Valley ski resort, hiking trails, and for golfing Orr Lake, Vespra Hills, Springwater and Barrie Golf & Country Club.
Springwater is home to fun events for all ages throughout the year, including the Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival in April, a culinary delight in August called Savour Simcoe, the Elmvale Fall Fair, and the Farmer’s Market which operates on Friday’s from June to September, featuring crafts, produce, honey, maple syrup, and baking.
